A premier global law firm is seeking an Energy Transactions, Regulatory & Data Centers Associate Attorney to join its Washington, DC office.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing data center developers, utilities, independent power producers, infrastructure investors, private equity sponsors, and energy companies in sophisticated energy regulatory and transactional matters.
• 4–6 years of energy regulatory, energy transactions, project development, or infrastructure experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
• Experience representing data center developers, regulated utilities, independent power producers, transmission companies, infrastructure funds, private equity sponsors, tax equity investors, and energy companies
• Experience advising clients on energy regulatory matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and state public utility commissions
• Experience negotiating power supply agreements, infrastructure agreements, interconnection agreements, and other energy-related commercial transactions
• Experience supporting energy project development, including renewable energy, thermal generation, nuclear generation, electric transmission, oil and gas pipelines, and LNG infrastructure projects
• Experience providing regulatory support for mergers & acquisitions, project finance, private equity, and commercial real estate transactions
• Experience drafting regulatory filings, pleadings, briefs, comments, testimony, settlement agreements, and appellate briefs
• Experience working with regional transmission organizations (RTOs) and advising clients on energy market rules is preferred
• Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters while maintaining significant client interaction
• Excellent academic credentials
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
• DC bar admission required or ability to become admitted
