Description:

CTG is seeking an experienced Energy & Utilities Industry Consultant to support strategic client initiatives within the utility sector. This engagement requires a seasoned industry expert who can engage directly with client stakeholders to provide guidance on utility operations, industry trends, regulatory changes, grid modernization, and strategic solutions.

 

Location: Remote
Duration: 6 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor during client discussions related to Energy & Utilities operations, solutions, and industry trends
  • Provide subject matter expertise in electric utility operations, transmission and distribution systems, and utility business processes
  • Advise clients on regulatory requirements, compliance frameworks, and emerging industry developments
  • Support discussions related to grid modernization, infrastructure planning, and asset lifecycle management
  • Provide guidance on utility customer service operations and billing processes
  • Collaborate with executive stakeholders to evaluate operational strategies and technology initiatives
  • Deliver insights and recommendations based on extensive practical experience within the utility industry

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive professional experience within the Energy & Utilities industry
  • Deep expertise in electric utility operations and business processes
  • Strong understanding of transmission and distribution systems
  • Knowledge of utility regulatory and compliance frameworks
  • Strategic consulting and advisory experience
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills
  • Experience with asset management and infrastructure planning initiatives
  • Understanding of utility customer service and billing operations
  • Ability to communicate industry trends, operational challenges, and strategic recommendations effectively

Preferred Experience

  • 10+ years of Energy & Utilities industry experience preferred
  • Previous consulting or advisory experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting electric utility modernization or transformation initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead client-facing discussions and provide strategic guidance

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Management, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced degree or industry certifications preferred

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $125,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
