Title: Enforcement Operations Specialist
Location: SF, NY, DC Preferred, but will flex for the right fit.

Pay range: $100-$120/hr on W2

Job Summary
The AI R&D Access & Abuse Reviewer will evaluate access requests associated with AI research and development use cases. This individual will assess the credibility, legitimacy, and stated purpose of research activities to determine whether access should be approved, denied, or escalated under established policies and safeguards.
The ideal candidate has experience in Trust & Safety, AI policy operations, machine learning-adjacent operations, research program administration, or grants review. The role requires sound judgment, policy-driven decision-making, and sufficient familiarity with machine learning concepts to assess research proposals and identify potential misuse or abuse concerns.
Key Responsibilities
Review and evaluate access requests related to AI research and development activities.
Assess the credibility, legitimacy, and technical plausibility of stated research use cases.
Apply established access policies, eligibility criteria, and safeguards consistently.
Identify potential abuse risks, suspicious research claims, and requests that require additional scrutiny.
Evaluate whether proposed use cases align with permitted research activities and access requirements.
Document review findings, decision rationales, and supporting evidence.
Escalate ambiguous, high-risk, or policy-sensitive cases to the appropriate stakeholders.
Collaborate with AI research, policy, Trust & Safety, and enforcement teams to improve review quality and consistency.
Maintain accurate case records and meet established review turnaround expectations.
Provide feedback on recurring abuse patterns and opportunities to improve future review automation.
Required Qualifications
Experience in Trust & Safety, policy operations, AI safety operations, research administration, grants review, or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to make evidence-based decisions using established policies and review criteria.
Familiarity with machine learning concepts, AI research workflows, or technical research environments.
Ability to assess the credibility and stated purpose of research-related requests.
Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and written communication skills.
Ability to document clear decision rationales and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Sound judgment when evaluating ambiguous cases and determining when escalation is necessary.
