Position Summary: The Engagement Officer Position is an essential position within Labor Credit Union (Labor CU), that will enable the credit union to provide quality-driven member service to existing and potential members of the credit union. This position will maximize lending and sales opportunities for the credit union by engaging with members who apply for credit or membership. This includes secured and unsecured consumer loans (Auto, Personal, Credit Cards), lines of credit, and Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOC), as well as other deposit products offered through the credit union that will benefit the member. To achieve this, the Engagement Officer will: - Demonstrate Core Pillars: Actively embody and promote the credit union's core values.

- Proactive Engagement: Initiate and process member account and loan application requests.
- Quality Service: Provide exceptional service and support throughout the member journey.
- Timely Onboarding: Ensure efficient and timely processing of share/deposit accounts and loan closings.
- Ancillary Product Sales: Identify and promote relevant products and services.
- Member Experience: Prioritize and enhance the overall member experience.
By effectively executing these responsibilities, the Engagement Officer will contribute to the credit union's growth and success. Duties and Responsibilities: - Consult with members on their lending needs by building rapport and trust
- Listen and engage with members while understanding and addressing member financial goals
- Proactively engage with members through various channels
- Educate members on loan terms, conditions, and ancillary products
- Review loan applications for completeness
- Follow established underwriting and processing procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (FCRA, MLA, ECOA, TILA, FHA, BSA/AML, OFAC)
- Schedule and facilitate loan closings
- Identify and recommend suitable products and services
- Utilize needs-based selling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
- Cross-sell additional products to enhance member relationships
- Open new member accounts
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge
- Attend training and maintain required licenses
- Complete various administrative tasks (e.g., reports, data entry)
- Adhere to internal policies and procedures
- Perform other duties may be assigned.

Position Requirements: - A High School Diploma or equivalent college is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years in a consultative consumer lending or sales-based environment
- A minimum of 2 years’ financial institution experience, preferably in a credit union environment
- Active NMLS Number or the ability to acquire such within 6 months of becoming an Engagement Officer
- A high level of knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Prior experience and working knowledge of digital credit application software
Physical Job Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of 5 to 20 pounds. This is a Hybrid role. Occasional travel to on-site premises may be required. Employees should have a high-speed internet connection and a secure, quiet place to work remotely.
