Prince William County Community Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to serve as an Engagement Specialist / Sr. Clinical Services Caseworker within the ACCESS team. We are seeking an individual interested in being part of a team and organization whose mission is a commitment to improving the quality of life of individuals and families in the Prince William County community. This position plays a vital role in identifying and re-engaging individuals who have disengaged from mental health or substance use disorder treatment services. The successful candidate will have experience providing clinical supervision to clinical staff, and experience providing clinical services to clients with serious mental illness, SMI, and/or clients diagnosed with a substance use disorder.

About This Role:

You will conduct engagement and outreach services with individuals referred from Community Services programs who are not attending scheduled appointments or have disengaged from services. You will identify barriers to participation, including transportation, housing instability, financial concerns, motivation, co-occurring disorders, and access to community resources. You will collaborate with internal and external treatment providers, hospitals, community agencies, and internal multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, mental health/substance use screenings including the Columbia-Suicide Severity screening, ASAM, and make initial diagnosis. You will provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and guidance to ACCESS therapists and clinical staff in accordance with agency standards and licensure requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related behavioral science field.
  • Must possess an unrestricted LCSW or LPC license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • 3 years of experience in the delivery of human services to adults and youth in a Mental Health, Substance Abuse, or Emergency Services outpatient program.

Preferences:

  • 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Eligible to provide clinical supervision towards licensure.
  • Experience conducting comprehensive assessments, mental health/substance abuse screenings to include the Columbia-Suicide Severity screening, ASAM, and making initial diagnosis.
  • Experience with formulating diagnoses for clients with acute, chronic, severe mental illness.
  • Experience utilizing motivational interviewing strategies and documenting changes and progress.
  • Experience evaluating risk and implementing crisis management plans.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external partners and across systems.
  • Experience using Electronic Behavioral Health Record.
  • Experience working in a team environment and/or with shared individuals.
  • Experience with computer software, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Special Requirements:

Must possess a valid drivers license;

Must pass DMV record check;

Must pass TB test;

Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprinted-based national criminal history record check.

Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglect maintained by the Department of Social Services.

Starting Salary Range: $82,777.50 - $139,288.50 Annually
