Engine Builder - Motorsports Industry Leader
Location: Santa Clarita, CA
Hourly Rate: $25-$35 (DOE)
Overview: A leading motorsports organization is seeking a skilled Engine Builder to join its high-performance team in Santa Clarita. This hands-on role involves rebuilding, inspecting, and maintaining race engines with a strong focus on quality control, documentation, and shop upkeep.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform full engine rebuilds including teardown, cleaning, inspection, measurement, sub-assembly, and final fitting
Track engine and component mileage; maintain detailed engine history and evaluate condition
Troubleshoot engine and performance issues; recommend and document countermeasures
Generate technical and summary reports; develop and refine engine build procedures
Document build issues and evaluate assembly processes for consistency and quality
Maintain shop cleanliness including washroom and grinding room
Manage engine carts, dollies, tools, and consumables inventory
Sort and dispose of stock parts, chassis, and project materials
Perform precision tasks such as honing valve guides and polishing valve faces
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in high-performance engine building or certified dealership technician work (automotive or motorcycle)
