With more than 55 locations across North America, we provide customers with reliable equipment they can count on when downtime isn't an option.As an Engine Rebuild Technician, you'll play a critical role in extending the life of our proprietary heating equipment by restoring failed engines to factory performance standards.What We OfferWork on proprietary jet-powered temporary heating equipmentDiagnose and rebuild engines from teardown through final testingCollaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Product SupportStable, growing company with advancement opportunitiesClean, safety-focused manufacturing environmentCompetitive pay and excellent benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with company match, 3 weeks PTO, paid holidays, and ongoing technical trainingWhat You'll DoEngine Disassembly & InspectionReceive failed engines and heating units returned from the fieldCompletely disassemble engines and related componentsInspect all mechanical components for wear, damage, and failureDetermine which parts can be salvaged, repaired, or replacedDocument failure findings and communicate unusual issues to EngineeringCleaning & Component RestorationThoroughly clean engine components using approved cleaning equipment and proceduresRemove carbon buildup, contaminants, and debris from reusable componentsPrepare salvaged components for inspection and reassemblyEnsure all reusable parts meet quality standards before installationEngine RebuildRebuild failed jet-powered heating units using salvaged and new replacement componentsReplace bearings, seals, hardware, electrical components, fuel system parts, and other wear itemsAssemble engines following detailed work instructions and engineering specificationsMaintain strict quality standards throughout every rebuildVerify proper tolerances, torque specifications, and assembly proceduresTesting & DiagnosticsPerform operational testing before and after engine rebuildsDiagnose mechanical and electrical failuresVerify engine performance following rebuildTroubleshoot and correct issues discovered during testingEnsure every rebuilt unit meets REIC Rentals' quality and safety standards before returning to serviceDocumentationComplete teardown reports and failure analysis documentationRecord replacement parts used during rebuildsMaintain accurate repair records within company systemsDocument inspection findings and testing resultsInventory & Shop SupportMaintain organized inventory of replacement engine componentsIdentify components requiring replenishmentAssist with inventory counts and organizationMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work areaContinuous ImprovementRecommend improvements to rebuild procedures and repair processesAssist Engineering by identifying recurring failure trendsParticipate in quality improvement initiativesSupport development of repair standards and work instructionsWhat We're Looking ForEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentTechnical degree or certification in Aviation Maintenance, Powerplant Technology, Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferredProfessional experience rebuilding aircraft, turbine, diesel, industrial, automotive, or racing engines strongly preferredTechnical school engine rebuilding experience will also be consideredTechnical SkillsStrong mechanical aptitudeExperience rebuilding mechanical equipmentAbility to diagnose mechanical failuresExperience reading mechanical drawings and service manualsSkilled with precision hand and power toolsUnderstanding of bearings, seals, rotating assemblies, fuel systems, and mechanical componentsStrong attention to detailCommitment to quality workmanshipBasic computer skills for repair documentationPhysical RequirementsThis position requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, using hand tools, and working around machinery in a manufacturing environment.
