The Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections, & Enforcement is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill an Engineer 4G grade G31 position in the Chief Engineer Office 1 Division.
About the Position
This position provides principal-level professional engineering plan review and administrative support work with the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement. The incumbent provides geotechnical and civil engineering support relative to permit review and quality assurance of construction materials used by permittees involved in land development projects in Prince George's County; the development of construction specifications; materials sampling and testing procedures; and research on quality of construction materials for compliance with prevailing government and industry standards. Work requires the application of complex engineering principles and practices and is performed under the general supervision of the Division Chief.

The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) is responsible for coordinating and enforcing standards that control what goes on before, during, and after construction. Staff from nine agencies, who work cooperatively on permit processing, business licensing, plan review, inspection and enforcement comprise Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement. The Mission of the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement is to promote economic development in Prince George's County and protect the safety of County residents, businesses, and visitors through efficient permitting, inspection and licensing services to ensure compliance with established building, zoning and property standards codes.Job Type: Probationary FT
