The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Central Region, is looking for two (2) Engineer/Architect 1/2 Flexs (Utility Lead/Manager) in Anchorage to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
Base Salary Information
Engineer/Architect 1: $3,776.00 biweekly (OT Ineligible)
Engineer/Architect 2: $4,032.80 biweekly (OT Ineligible)
What You Will Be Doing
As one of the Utilities Leads within the Central Region Traffic Safety & Utilities (TS&U) Section, you will oversee all utility-related activities necessary for utility permitting and the development of small to medium sized capital improvement projects that are proposed within the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities' managed rights-of-way. This includes coordinating efforts of DOT&PF design staff and/or engineering consultants. You will supervise a team of three engineering assistant staff in the Utilities Group. Following a structured training plan, the incumbent will develop proficiency in the full range of utility related and supervisory duties, advancing to the Engineer/Architect 2 level.

- This position resides in the DOT&PF Central Region Headquarters building in Anchorage, AK located at 4111 Aviation Ave.
- This building resides on the shores of Lake Hood and is across from the Ted Stevens International Airport.
- This office building is generally comprised of cubicle office space and organized by departmental sections and teams, including the Traffic, Safety, and Utilities Section in which this position is to be filled.
- Office hours and schedules have some flexibility, and travel to project sites may be required for short durations.
- Hybrid teleworking is an option upon completion of the mandatory probationary period.

Minimum Qualifications
- Engineer/Architect 1: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect.
- Engineer/Architect 2: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, and one year of professional experience as an Engineer/Architect 1 or Engineering Associate with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent.
Special Instructions for Foreign Education
- Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements, if applicable. If utilizing this education, you must show that the education credentials have been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and that such education has been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs; or an accredited U.S. state university reports the other institution as one whose transcript is given full value, or full value is given in subject areas applicable to the curricula at the state university. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
