The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Central Region Construction & CIP Support, is looking for an Engineer/Architect 3 (Central Region Senior Construction Project Manager) to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing:
This Engineer/Architect 3 "Construction Project Manager" position directly manages approximately 10 to 15 concurrent public works construction projects from pre-bid through final records review. Projects are administered through individual on-site Project Engineers, consultants and their subordinate staff. These projects range in size from half-million dollars to over 50 million dollars, and are varied by scope and complexity, have many technical and nontechnical activities to be coordinated, a limited budget to be maintained and require a certain amount of public involvement. You will collaborate with multiple functional groups within the department, coordinate with staff from multiple areas of expertise, and assist with public and agency meetings to successfully construct capital improvement projects in Central Region, thereby delivering the departments mission. The working environment you can expect:
This position can be either located in Anchorage or Wasilla depending on the applicants preference. The successful incumbent will supervise multiple Project Engineers, develop and oversee consultant contracts, and manage scope, schedule and budget for Federal and State civil construction projects. This job may also require you to travel to remote sites, by small airplane, boat and motor vehicle.

Minimum Qualifications
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, and three years of professional engineering or architectural experience (Engineer/Architect series), or the equivalent.

Note: Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS 08.48.191(b). Persons employed under this provision must become registered in Alaska within one year of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.
