    Description:


    Performs a variety of aircraft cabin/interiors engineering work including drawing interpretation, design and substantiation as related to transport category aircraft cabin interior modifications.


    What you will be responsible for:


    + Design and analyze aircraft cabin interior systems and components, typically in support of aircraft interior modifications (STC projects) including integration of seats, monuments, PSUs, flooring, emergency equipment, sidewall/dado/ceiling panels, windows, stowage bins and placards.

    + Work independently to gather data and input on the development of original designs or adaptations of existing designs after having been given general instructions regarding scope and parameters.

    + Prepare cabin interior modification/installation/fabrication drawings, engineering reports and work instructions.

    + Participate in design reviews and presentations with suppliers, customers, and various internal departments to obtain input on, agreement with, and understanding of project objectives and schedules.

    + Troubleshoot aircraft issues during STC prototype and post STC using standard testing tools and methods.

    + Travel both domestically and internationally (up to 10%).


    Qualifications:


    What you will need to be successful in this role:


    + Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

    + 2 years of engineering design or analysis experience.

    + Experience with commercial aircraft (Airbus or Boeing) required.

    + Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs - from Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations) as they apply to transport category aircraft.

    + Familiarity with the FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process.

    + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and technical publications (i.e.: Structural Repair Manual (SRM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC)).

    + Experience creating engineering details, assemblies and installation drawings using AutoCAD/Inventor and standard engineering drawing convention.
