To maintain the facilities, systems, and equipment to the optimum conditions of the company's strictest quality standards.
Essential Job Duties:- Develop and implement preventive equipment programs to minimize production disruptions and downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions and performance issues.
- Plan, design, and install electrical systems based on operational needs to optimize egg production.
- Conduct diagnostics and coordinate repairs or replacements of electrical equipment, including motors, control boards, and other electrical and mechanical components.
- Recommend repairs and replacement of defective equipment and/or parts in consultation with management, while ensuring compliance with all relevant manufacturer specifications and operational guidelines.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, including:
- Repairing feed chains, fan frames, and blade systems.
- Identifying and addressing potential issues before failures occur.
- Investigate equipment failures and operational concerns by:
- Diagnosing faulty operation and recommending corrective actions.
- Cleaning, servicing, repairing, and lubricating production machinery and components, including conveyors, drives, water systems, and gas-powered pneumatic controls.
- Repairing gas-powered pneumatic systems.
- Ensuring chlorine and Parafos pumps operate accurately and efficiently, and recommending repairs or replacements as needed.
- Maintaining proper functionality of poultry buildings, tools, and production machinery.
- Testing and verifying the accuracy and precision of load cells used for measurement.
- Inspecting, monitoring, repairing, and replacing environmental control systems, including fans, lighting, floor heat, boilers, heaters, and air inlets, to support optimal poultry house conditions.
- Oversee the installation, operation, and repair of machinery and equipment in accordance with specifications and business requirements.
- Perform additional technical and engineering-related duties as needed to support the efficient operation of equipment and production systems.
- Adhere to the highest standards of animal welfare and promptly report incidents of abuse, neglect, or biosecurity breaches to protect the health and welfare of the birds.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - A Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or
- Three to five years related experience and/or training
- Previous engineering and supervisory experience preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The employee must be able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. The employee must also be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. The employee must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The employee must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. The employee must have the ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
The employee must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations that only limited standardization exists. The employee must also be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
If the employee is required to use a forklift, a forklift certificate is required. Will receive training in safety, SQF, and internal HACCP as well as any other training as decided by the General Manager.
