People • Customers • Trust General Summary Monitoring the day-to-day operation of both the primary & secondary wastewater treatment as well as the sludge conditioning.
Prerequisites Education 4-Year Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Pulp & Paper Science, Forestry, or equivalent work experience plus courses on Waste treatment plant operation.
Work Experience Two to Four years in treatment plant & pulp & paper mills.
Certificate/License Licensed Treatment Plant Operator - Required
Skills • Laboratory Tests • Communication Skills • Public Relations with people outside of the company.
Training • One to Six months depending on experience.
Essential Functions The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: Responsible for the day-to-day operation of secondary treatment plant & associated equipment on mill site. Maintains compliance with ISO Quality Systems responsibilities. Assist in the training of secondary & primary operators & writing operating procedures. Manage sludge landspreading preparation sites, marking setbacks, sludge deliveries, plowing, planting, snowplowing, farm leases, etc. Coordinate maintenance work on secondary facilities and help troubleshoot problems. Responsible to assure that all required tests are being performed and documented correctly. Perform quality assurance work as required. Keep records as required. Assist the E H & S Manager in the planning, implementation, and completion of various environmental projects.
Compensation and Benefits Starting salary range for position: $86,400 to $129,600 Paid Vacation: Three weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year. Paid Holidays. Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee and their dependents are eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages - medical, dental, and vision - and are automatically enrolled in life AD&D and disability coverages. Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer-provided matching contributions.
