Job Description

Essex Industries is a multi-site aerospace and defense manufacturer serving military and commercial customers worldwide. The Engineer supports sustaining engineering activities, product improvements, and design efforts while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes research data and/ or proposed product specifications to design for product and process improvements.
  • Confers with engineering, operations, quality or procurement personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design solutions.
  • Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
  • Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system.
  • Plans and develops experimental and production test programs.
  • Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
  • Creates Bill of Materials and Drawings.
  • Works Closely with supervision or project lead.
  • Prepare, review and approve technical drawings and documents.
  • Interfaces with Program Management to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met.

Required Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • Knowledge equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field and 0-3 years of equivalent engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
