Job Description
As an Engineer II with the Order Self Service team, you will independently complete product features that are well-tested and bug-free. You'll participate in the technical design of features with guidance. You will build and maintain relationships outside of your immediate team. You will understand and follow stated best practices and guidelines, and you will actively participate in team-internal technical discussions and peer review using that knowledge.
In this role, you'll primarily work virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location. However, you must live within a drivable distance to our corporate campus in Richfield, Minnesota. What you'll do
- Deliver code features, system components or platforms from start to finish.
- Build and enhance internal libraries, tools, and processes to improve development efficiency and scalability.
- Share best practices, mentor peers and foster professional growth across engineering team.
- Ensure quality delivery of features and systems.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and written with various business partners.
- Partner with team-specific stakeholders to mitigate risk within the team and with external associates.
- Participate in production triage and support.
- Improving knowledge and understanding of core concepts.
Basic qualifications
- 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- 2 years of relevant Enterprise Software Engineering experience at scale
- 2 years of development experience with Java, Spring, REST web services and similar technologies
