JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.Job Summary -- Essential Functions/DutiesThis position is a Mechanical Engineer with a balance of design and hands‑on experience. The successful candidate will perform a variety of engineering tasks including research, design, and development of mechanical equipment and systems. The candidate will also work closely with a team of fabricators and mechanics to produce prototypes, troubleshoot challenges, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:Perform as a lead of a development, sustainment, or operations and maintenance team on more complex engineering assignmentsIndependently perform a range of design, development, analysis, or review tasks under generally established project deadlinesComplete design specifications, analyses, or design reviews for complex projectsGenerate complete design specifications for more complex projectsCoordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirementsVerify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test proceduresPrepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studiesSupport development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of workDevelop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specificationsDirect interface with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activitiesActs as liaison for design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specificationsConduct site visits and experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendationPerform other job‑related duties, as requiredDesired QualificationsProficient in SolidWorks CAD.Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) preferred.Requirements -- Education, Technical, and Work ExperienceA Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited academic institution and four years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in Engineering and a minimum of two years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering are required for this position.In addition, an Engineer III must possess the following qualifications:Mastery of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering that enable the employee to serve as a technical authority on projects relating to the specific programsKnowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve problems in the specialty areaWorking knowledge of computer systems and computer‑based engineering toolsAbility to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and softwareExcellent communication and analytical skillsPlanning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlinesMust be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearanceTasking is in support of a Federal Government Contract that requires U.S. citizenship.
