Job Summary:

The Electrical Test Engineering team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer - Test Automation in Poway, CA. The department designs automated test platforms for remotely piloted air vehicles, ground support equipment, and engines as well as real time data acquisition platforms for flight and ground testing.


GA-ASI’s product line offers a wide variety of platforms for automated designers to work on from power systems to video and datalink applications.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


+ Applies technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned engineering problems.

+ Collaborate with various engineering teams to plan, coordinate, and implement automated or semi-automated test systems.

+ Design schematics for automated test platforms and be familiar with schematics and CAD tools.

+ Communicate software and hardware design concepts

+ Applies technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned engineering problems.

+ Performs functional testing and troubleshooting of equipment and systems in assigned area by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles

+ Provide support in person and through documentation generation of findings and implemented solutions.

+ Develop, maintain, and deploy software primarily using LabVIEW.

+ Capable of writing detailed summary reports by collating data from various sources.

+ Follow department standards for software and hardware development, including peer reviews and proper source control etiquette.

+ Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

+ Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

+ Develop appropriate documentation related to designated tasks, ranging from design, test plans, root cause analysis.

Job Qualifications:


+ Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

+ Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

+ Knowledge of open vs closed loop system controls

+ Experience with utilizing typical lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, DMM, power supplies, etc.

+ Must have Experience with interpreting schematics and a general understanding of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

+ Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.

+ Working knowledge of electronic circuits, hardware design and assembly of PWA’s.

+ Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

+ Must be able to work extended hours as required.

+ Utilize Microprocessors in power electronics. Including power generation, distribution and conversion.

+ Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
