This Engineer III - Power BI Platform is a highly skilled and experienced individual who oversees the maintenance, security, and deployment of our enterprise-wide Power BI environment. As the subject matter expert, the incumbent takes ownership of the Power BI Service, ensuring a stable, scalable, and secure platform for all business intelligence initiatives.

The Engineer III - Power BI Platform has deep technical knowledge of the Power BI platform, strong administration and governance skills, and a passion for optimizing performance and implementing best practices.

Education & Requirement:

Eight plus (8+) years of professional experience in data analytics, with four plus (4+) years of dedicated experience as a Power BI Administrator or Platform Lead

Proven, hands-on experience implementing and managing security models (RLS, OLS) in Power BI

Strong experience with on-premises data gateway configuration and management

Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for Power BI, preferably using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions

Hands-on experience with the Power BI REST API for automated deployments and platform management

Experience working with Microsoft Fabric preferred

Background in data warehousing concepts and ETL processes preferred

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field from an accredited institution required

Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field from an accredited institution

Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or other relevant certifications preferred

Key Qualifications:

• Expert-level comprehensive knowledge and deep understanding of the following: • Power BI Admin Portal, including tenant settings, capacity management (Premium/Fabric), and workspaces • Power BI architecture and its integration with the broader Microsoft ecosystem (e.g., Azure Active Directory, Azure Data Lake) • PowerShell scripting for automating Power BI administrative tasks • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Highly self-motivated and directed • Keen attention to detail • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment • Ability to present to and communicate with different stakeholders • Ability to work well both individually and in a group
