For the current vacancy in Water, the employee will be involved in creating documents for Capital Projects which includes preparing requests for proposals, reviewing proposals and recommending consulting engineer selections; prepare, review, and process engineering agreements and amendments for Council ratification. Attends design meetings, review plans and specifications; attends pre-bid conferences; and reviews and issues bid award recommendations. This position assimilates required bid documents, monitors consulting engineers and contractors during project construction, and reviews payment requests submitted by consulting engineers and contractors. Employee is also responsible for preparing Council resolutions for bid awards and acceptance of completed projects. Position requires driving of a personal vehicle, thus possession of a valid drivers license, acceptable driving record, and personal automobile with minimum liability insurance available for business use (business travel is reimbursed on a mileage basis) will be given preference.NOTE: If P.E. registration is from another state, must obtain Louisiana registration before end of the probationary period.
