Responsibilities

• Oversee all substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning.
• Collaborate with Early-Stage Project Managers to support engineering requirements and scope development.
• Provide training, due diligence, and technical oversight of external engineers to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Secure engineering consulting resources and manage the bidding and awarding process.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to secure substation sites and support necessary engineering updates and permits.
• Source, select, and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services.
• Represent E&C's interests in project meetings and provide updates on progress, issues, and risk mitigation.
• Support Transmission Services in reviewing interconnection documentation and ensuring compliance with ISO requirements.
• Manage project material orders to minimize delays and budget overruns.
• Collaborate with project engineering resources to determine priorities and work plans.
• Ensure projects are implemented efficiently, cost-effectively, and safely.
• Support project commissioning activities to meet corporate objectives.
• Collaborate with OEMs to enhance designs for better integration with NEER's philosophies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 7 years of experience in substation design and engineering of high voltage substation projects.
• Experience in Project Engineering and/or Project Management.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferences

• PMP and/or P.E. certification in a related discipline.
