Performs tolerance, durability, design allowables analysis, and structural modeling. Provides hands‑on waterfront support, manufacturing engineering oversight, and construction support for Reactor Plant structures within the E86 Structural and Shielding group of the Virginia Class Submarine program.ResponsibilitiesEnsure engineering specifications and SOPs align with technical authority documents and design drawings.Review engineering change documents for validity and proper integration into local documents.Validate welds, notes, and dimensions for VCS construction using submarine construction knowledge.Provide training to entry‑level engineers.Participate in development of processes and procedures.Collaborate with Engineers, Construction Trade Representatives, and Planning Personnel to clarify requirements and conduct collaboration meetings.QualificationsMust HaveBachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program and at least 2 years of relevant exempt experience.Master's degree with no required professional experience (optional).Nice to HaveGeneral understanding of reactor plant construction, structural drawing interpretation, and project management experience.Experience with NDT standards and welding standards.Familiarity with NNS shipbuilding programs such as SAP, i2, CATIA, Enovia.SkillsStrong written and verbal communication.Problem solving and critical thinking.Technical writing.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.BenefitsThe company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental and vision plan choices; on‑site health centers; tele‑medicine; wellness resources; employee assistance programs; a 401(k) savings plan; financial education; life insurance; tuition reimbursement; employee discounts; and early childhood & post‑secondary education scholarships.
