Position Summary - Pay Range $34.00 - $36.00/hour
The Engineer 1/Painter is responsible for painting, plastering, and wallpapering public areas to ensure a safe, efficient, well-maintained resort environment.
Essential Function
- Must adhere to the company’s Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life.
- Must participate in all hotel required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
- Comply with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient resort operations.
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Maintains (paint, wallpaper, plaster, etc.) all public areas and guest rooms on an on-going basis.
- Keep the resort décor in good condition.
- Tapes, flushes, repairs, and applies texturing, wallpaper, and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces. Adjusts colors when necessary; utilizes enhanced finishing skills when appropriate.
- Operate, clean, and maintain all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electro-static sprayers, pumps, etc. Safely stores and labels all materials.
- Estimate time and materials required; submits reports of work performed.
- Offer assistance and advice on materials, designs, and color.
- Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
- Abide by all resort policies and safety rules.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
- 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a resort or related field is a must.
Working Conditions and Schedule
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Must be able to stand and work for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to bend, stoop or reach as needed.
- Must be able to work in an outdoor environment with varying temperatures, including temperatures above 100° F.
- Must be able to use hand tools.
- Work requires exposure to chemicals, dirt, odors, noise, slippery/unstable/unlevel working surfaces.
- This role may require operating a golf cart.
