Job Description:

  • The Electrical Engineer will develop vehicle electrical systems for riding lawn mowers and compact utility tractors throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Supply Management, Quality, Program Management, and Product Validation & Verification (PV&V) to deliver high-quality electrical system solutions.
  • Plan, coordinate, design, test, and analyze engineering solutions for vehicle electrical systems while supporting manufacturing, quality, and continuous product improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and own electrical system requirements, including hardware and software, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Design, develop, and release vehicle electrical systems, including wiring harnesses and related components.
  • Create, organize, and maintain bills of material (BOMs) for vehicle electrical systems.
  • Partner with suppliers to evaluate component feasibility, development, validation, and integration.
  • Provide engineering support during prototype builds and throughout the product development cycle.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and contribute to design improvements.
  • Conduct engineering analysis, testing, and validation to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support change management initiatives.
  • Deliver engineering projects while meeting quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product development and manufacturing support.
  • Perform engineering inspections and recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, manage engineering risks, and support project planning activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members when required.
  • Support production activities during off-shift hours as needed.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in vehicle electrical system design, integration, or testing.
  • Experience designing, developing, or testing electrical components, wiring harnesses, schematics, and hardware/software integration.
  • Experience managing engineering projects and project deliverables.
  • Knowledge of product development processes.
  • Experience creating and maintaining bills of material (BOMs).
  • Experience with embedded product validation, verification, SIL, or HiL testing is preferred.
  • Experience developing wiring harnesses and electrical systems using 3D CAD tools is preferred.
  • Experience in agriculture or off-highway vehicle development is preferred.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Experience leading technical teams, mentoring peers, or coordinating remote engineering activities is preferred.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering practices is preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
  • Ability to support off-shift production activities when required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
