PGS Worldwide is seeking an Engineer RF Microwave Design 2 in Camarillo, CA for a one year contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. In this onsite role, you will support the development of electronic warfare (EW) systems, focusing on RF hardware design, prototyping, testing, and system integration. You will collaborate with senior engineers and a Navy-led team to develop and evaluate RF system performance.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science field with 2 years of experience, or 1 year with a Master’s, or 0 years with a PhD
  • U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance
  • Experience with RF systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Skills

  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Experience with RF component selection, RF system development, and RF test equipment
  • Experience mitigating co-site RF interference
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic warfare principles
  • Familiarity with aircraft RF safety
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodology
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience integrating RF systems with military aircraft
  • Familiarity with military standards

What You’ll Do

  • Support RF design development based on operational scenarios, architecture frameworks, and performance requirements
  • Assist with defining RF component requirements and selecting appropriate components (antennas, amplifiers, filters, cables, etc.)
  • Evaluate vendor simulations and support antenna selection
  • Assist in building and testing RF systems and components using RF test benches
  • Support system integration, chamber testing, and prototype evaluation
  • Develop and maintain RF block diagrams and technical documentation
  • Assist with RF switching hardware development and evaluation
  • Conduct acceptance testing and troubleshoot RF system issues
  • Support compliance with EMI/EMC military standards
  • Assist with RF safety evaluations and system performance testing in lab and flight environments
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and support program data requirements

  • Travel up to 10%
