Description
Overview:
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a senior engineering consultant and subject matter expert for mission-critical infrastructure, systems, equipment, and Naval surface ship systems and operations.
Apply scientific and engineering principles to assess operational requirements and develop effective technical solutions for shore-based and shipboard environments.
Develop preliminary and final design plans, engineering specifications, cost estimates, and procurement packages.
Support the operation, preventive maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, utility, and mission-critical systems, including systems relevant to Naval surface ships.
Define functional requirements and support the design, testing, analysis, and integration of components and systems.
Evaluate designs and systems for effectiveness, reliability, safety, and cost efficiency.
Design, analyze, configure, test, and troubleshoot engineering systems and related components.
Provide project engineering, program management, development, evaluation, and lifecycle support.
Conduct site surveys and investigations to collect technical data and support engineering design efforts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical solutions align with project objectives, fleet requirements, and operational needs.
Provide engineering support informed by experience with surface combatants, amphibious ships, support vessels, or other Naval surface platforms.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
5 to 7 years of related engineering experience, or 20 plus years of experience supporting Navy programs.
Demonstrated experience in engineering design, systems analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
Experience supporting mission-critical systems and infrastructure.
Pay Transparency Statement:
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $130,000.00/Yr. - USD $172,600/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. AMERICAN SYSTEMS provides for the welfare of its employees and their dependents through a comprehensive benefits program by offering healthcare benefits, paid leave, retirement plans, insurance programs, and education and training assistance.
