Job Description:
- Client is seeking an Engineer Student for Event Analysis. This position provides engineering support and analysis for weekly event detection for the Client System.
- Reviews system events to ensure compliance with Client and NERC requirements.
- Develops appropriate tools, displays, policies, and procedures to help the Event Analysis team.
- Continued tuning of a PMU formatting tool, expansion of event root cause analysis and event tool tracking improvement, and ad hoc analysis to support presentations internally and to stakeholders.
JOB DUTIES
- provides engineering support and analysis for weekly event detection for the Client System
- Reviews system events to ensure compliance with Client and NERC requirements
- Communicates system events to the Event Analysis team
- Participates in cross-functional teams to ensure real-time events are shared with appropriate teams
- Gains knowledge of relevant market rules and departmental procedures
- Develops, enhances, and maintains tools and reports for Client stakeholders that improve visibility and understanding of real-time events
- Supports staff representing Client in technical committees and subcommittees
- May provide presentations and participate in stakeholder meetings with Client personnel and Market Participants
EXPERIENCE
- Working in a team environment whether at school or outside of school.
- Requires some prior internship or related work experience in excess of degree requirements. Client internship experience preferred.
Desired Skills
- Prefers experience in software development and coding in various languages (Python, SQL, etc.).
- Prefers experience with analyzing real-time data (SCADA, PMU, DFR)
- Requires strong communication skills.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma (Required)
- Associates Degree: Electrical Engineer or related field (Preferred)
- College Sophomore or higher with studies in Engineer field (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineer or related field (Preferred)
- or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required.
