Position SummaryThis position is responsible for understanding and interpreting project technical specifications to ensure compliance and quality in support of a high complexity, high volume Electric Power project. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers to guarantee that all products and services meet the specified requirements.Additionally, the Supplier Quality Engineer supports internal execution teams by providing technical information and guidance to ensure successful installation and commissioning of equipment.Position Duties / ResponsibilitiesPartner with assigned suppliers to develop a Right First Time culture and associated capable processesLead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence (8D process)Understand and interpret project and product technical specifications to ensure compliance and quality.Collaborate closely with suppliers to guarantee that all products and services meet specified requirements.Support internal execution teams by providing technical information and guidance for successful installation and commissioning of equipment.Implement quality assurance processes to ensure products meet specified standards and customer expectations.Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with quality standards and develop quality control documentation and reports.Monitor and analyze product performance data to identify areas for improvement and lead initiatives to enhance product quality and reliability.Implement continuous improvement strategies for existing work plans.Concurrent multi-site, multi-state responsibility.Assist and monitor Technicians with technical questions.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNo formal supervisory responsibilities.Position RequirementsRequiredBachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial) or engineering technology (mechanical, electrical, industrial), or equivalent years of experience5+ years of professional work experienceAdvanced computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office software.Preferred8+ years of experience in application and installation of complex standby and prime electric power systems.Master's Degree in a related field.10+ years or more of experience in a related field with Heavy Equipment Manufacturer.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Functional capability with Microsoft Office suite of applications.Excellent communication, organization, judgment, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving.Strong ability to build relationships effectively by phone and virtually.Ability to pursue opportunities with relentless persistence.Excellent project management skills with a strong ability to manage change and conflict.Mastery of the product and a good knowledge of the product market.Strong customer service skills with the ability to meet and/or exceed customer expectations.Strong leadership skills, including creative thinking, decision-making, and goal-setting skills.Expertise in quality assurance processes and methodologies.Ability to conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.Proficiency in analyzing product performance data and identifying areas for improvement.Must have a passion for customer success.Other RequirementsWorks under limited supervision.
