This position will serve on the Deep-Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) program in a test engineer capacity. Perform end-to-end system testing, to include the development of step-by-step procedures to ensure requirement verification during formal system acceptance tests at site, with an emphasis on software tests. Additionally, you'll support fault detection, fault isolation, and fault recovery efforts during system integration testing from the subsystem to the system level. During, and following, all related system integration and test efforts, you'll also support the aggregation and analysis of technical data while providing key inputs to final acceptance test reporting.
Primary Responsibilities:
Performs software testing on the DARC radar system.
Prepare test plans, procedures, and reports.
Ensure effective communication between assigned engineers and all other participants in the integration and testing process.
Support agile software development team.
Support the development of system test solutions in accordance with project technical, schedule and cost constraints.
Assist team in development of innovative Test Automation solutions.
Participate in, prepare and execute comprehensive system/element level test plans and procedures.
Support system/element level test planning and test readiness reviews
Document test requirements and methodologies in the requirements management system.
Review system engineering documentation to ensure test plans and methodologies meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and complete
Support the development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software/hardware system integration testing
Participate in engineering peer reviews as a document originator or reviewer to ensure technical quality and engineering rigor is appropriate
Reports to the integration and test lead.
This position can be staffed at the Engineer Systems Test (level 2) or the Principal Engineer Systems test (level 3).
Basic Qualifications:
Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
Level 2: 2 years with a bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited University or College
Level 3: 5 years bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited University or College
Willingness and ability to support combine OCONUS and CONUS travel up to 30%
Experience in the development of software requirement verification procedures.
Experience conducting formal requirement verification test procedures.
Experience preparing test reports.
Preferred Qualifications (Evidence of skills, knowledge or experience in at least two of the listed preferred qualifications)
Experience working as part of an Integration and Test team across multiple engineering disciplines
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on missile defense, space tracking, and/or satellite operations experience (in lieu of degree)
Experience as a member of a team integrating large, complex systems comprised of diverse HW and SW elements
Ability to support Integration and Test/Checkout (IATC) of Hardware and Software configuration items
Experience generating Modeling and Simulation (M&S) scenarios.
Ability to document and record integration activities, including plans, procedures, results, and deficiencies
International integration and/or test experience
Software development integration and test methodologies
Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies
CompTIA Security+ Certification
SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
Experience with large ground data processing systems integration
Experience with radar processing algorithms or software integration
Experience with C++
Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate''s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
