Test & Evaluation Lab Technician 1 (Electrical/Electronic Equipment)

Location: Berkeley, MO — Building 73-102
Type: Contract (12 Months)
Quantity: 2 Openings
Shift: 1st Shift (Start 7:00–8:00 AM / End 3:00–4:30 PM)
Onsite/Remote:100% Onsite
Pay Rate:$28/hr
Education: High School or equivalent (AA Degree a plus, not required)
Security Clearance: Not required (U.S. Person required for Export Compliance)


Position Overview

The Test & Evaluation Lab Technician 1 supports multiple engineering programs by assisting in the design, fabrication, and testing of electronic test equipment. This role works under close supervision and involves hands-on assembly, basic troubleshooting, and routine testing in a laboratory environment.

Successful completion of training—either on-the-job (OJT) or formal classroom instruction—is required as a contingency for this assignment.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Participate in test design and support procurement, fabrication, and assembly of components, test fixtures, and test systems.

  • Interpret engineering drawings and electronic schematics to select proper tools, materials, and fabrication techniques.

  • Support system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down activities.

  • Conduct routine tests, collect and analyze data, and document test results.

  • Troubleshoot basic laboratory and test-related issues.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams across programs to build and refine electronic test equipment.

Training and mentorship will be provided.


Top Required Technical Skills

  1. Experience reading electronic schematics and/or engineering drawings

  2. Hands-on experience with crimping, soldering, and the use of multimeters

  3. Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge / work experience

  • Work Hours: Full-time, 1st shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM listed in HR system, but manager notes start can vary 7–8 AM)
