Marion Technical College was founded in 1970 with one priority: to improve employment opportunities for area residents through quality education at the local level. Classes began in 1971 with 187 students in four technical programs. Since then, more than 30,000 students have attended MTC, and around 6,000 have graduated with an associate degree.
