Engineering Aide - Data Acquisition and Analysis - PRTRJob Code: 2026:0101-038Location: Fairfax, VAFT/PT Status: Full TimeBusiness Sector: Facilities Management and OperationsJob DescriptionThe Engineering Aide at the Potomac River Test Range (PRTR) will support engineering teams through a variety of tasks and responsibilities crucial to project success. This position performs a myriad of important functions that help streamline engineering processes and ensure that projects run efficiently and effectively.Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorks closely with Test Planning and Management engineers, takes on tasks that range from administrative support to hands‑on involvement in project planning and executionAssists Test Planning and Management engineers in designing, testing, and maintaining systems and equipmentCollects and analyzes data, prepares reports and presentationsOperates and maintains laboratory equipment and performs tests as directedOrganizes and maintains engineering documents and recordsProvides technical support to other departments as requiredAssists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipmentProvides general administrative support to the engineering team as neededOther duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Skills and QualificationsAn associate's degree from an accredited college or university in any field or disciplineThree (3) years of experience in a professional work environmentExperience working collaboratively as a member of a project teamDemonstrated communication and teamwork skills, essential for success in a T&E team environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to safetyDemonstrated ability to use common laboratory equipment and toolsProficiency in data entry and basic data analysisPreferred Skills and QualificationsPrior experience working in a laboratory or field‑test environment or with the concepts of T&EFamiliarity with engineering standards and toolsPhysical QualificationsThe work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environmentMust be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of timeMust be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of timeMust be capable of lifting 25 lbs. unassistedReasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilitiesTerms of Employment & Eligibility RequirementsMust be a U.S. CitizenMust possess a high school diploma or equivalentMust possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictionsMust pass a pre‑employment drug screeningMust be able to successfully complete a background checkMust possess or be able to obtain an interim security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employmentOther Job InformationTRAX is committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace that values and supports contributions of all individuals.
