Key Duties & Responsibilities

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Engineering Aide Spec (Level 3) to join our team in Courtland, AL! We are seeking a detail-oriented individual possessing excellent technical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment. This position will execute a wide variety of tasks in support of cable/harness fabrication testing on our Production Operations Team!

This position is to support our first shift on a 4x10 schedule: Monday-Thursday 0600-1630. However, the position may require periodic or unscheduled overtime and/or nonstandard workweek depending on program schedule requirements and equipment availability.

Summary of key duties for this position:

  • Reviews and evaluates test requirements.
  • Develops, prepares, and executes test procedures supporting production and development programs.
  • Provides troubleshooting support, identify cause and corrective action to resolve technical production problems and develop re-test instructions when needed.
  • Identify and support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and increase the repeatability, efficiency, and throughput of test operations.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Perform automated and manual testing of cables and harnesses to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Work collaboratively in small teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Support the latest cutting-edge programs in the aerospace industry, including new and emerging technologies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with or willingness to learn how to write technical documents and execute test procedures
  • Familiarity with analog and digital measurement techniques and instrumentation (e.g. RF Test Equipment, DMM, Power Supplies, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Must be a United States citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce technical documents, test plans, procedures, and reports

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with DITMCO and/or CIRRIS testers
  • Electrical harness manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with analog and digital measurement techniques and instrumentation (e.g. RF Test Equipment, DMM, Power Supplies, etc.)
  • Experience with (or familiarity in) technical writing (for example, technical writing for test procedures or reports)
  • Experience working with SAP, EPDM, DOORs, CREO, CAMEO, Automation Framework, or industry equivalent(s)
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Work experience in the Aerospace and/or Defense industry
  • Certified Test Conductor or industry equivalent
  • Experience in an assembly/integration and test environment
  • Ability to maintain process discipline in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and seek new challenges
  • Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with team members

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
