JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Under direction from the Engineering Planning Department (EPD) Senior Civil Engineer, the Engineering Assistant performs the following tasks:
- Compiles data for various asset management functions (Master Plans, pipeline replacement analysis, cost database, conditional assessments, etc.)
- Performs complex data analyses using Microsoft Excel
- Provides research for EPD responses to GSWC/PUC-related data requests
- Updates exhibits and drawings (GIS and CAD)
- Updates, maintains and utilizes hydraulic models
- Other routine research and drafting tasks
• Data entry and filing.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Works under immediate supervision.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Pursuing a course of study in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks.

May include but not limited to standing, walking, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, lifting, reaching, stooping and crouching, color determination, typing, sitting, reading, speaking and listening.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws.  Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
