Engineering Assistant -INTERN POSITION

Engineering Intern

Location: University at Buffalo (UB)

Project Duration: November 2026 - November 2027

Compensation: $25.00 / hour (40 hours/week)

Position Summary

The Engineering Intern will assist senior engineering staff in executing tasks related to construction management. This role provides hands-on experience in project coordination, site monitoring, and quality control in both office and field environments.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Quality Assurance: Assist in reviewing engineering plans, technical specifications, and supporting site quality control processes.

Project Management & Coordination: Support project scheduling, budgeting, meeting coordination, and comprehensive documentation.

Field & Operations Support: Conduct site inspections to track construction progress, assist in resolving on-site engineering challenges, and gather operational data.

Reporting & Analysis: Compile and analyze data to produce technical reports and visual presentations.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering or a related field.

Experience: No prior experience required; exposure to construction management is beneficial.

Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in engineering design software.

Core Competencies: Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities, effective verbal and written communication, solid organizational skills, and a collaborative team mindset.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Environment: Split between office settings and active construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Physical Requirements: Ability to conduct on-site inspections and occasionally lift engineering equipment or materials.
