Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Onsite
Job Description:
  • Robotics Team is seeking an Engineering Change Management (ECM) Contractor to support the Vulcan Stow program.
  • The Stow system is a drop-in retrofit for universal stations that automates ASIN stow, comprising induct stations, item transfer systems, item buffer subsystems, and robotic stow workcells.
  • The contractor will manage the end-to-end engineering change order lifecycle in Agile PLM, ensuring changes are properly documented, reviewed, and implemented across manufacturing, supply chain, and field operations.
  • Reports to the ECM Lead as part of the Global Engineering Change Management team.
Responsibilities:
  • Actively support and foster a culture of inclusion.
  • Originate, process, and shepherd ECOs through all six stages of the ECO process (Pending Tech Review Submitted Pre-CCB Prep CCB Approval Released/CIB Implemented) for Vulcan Stow hardware and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Conduct thorough ECO documentation reviews including cover page completeness, Description of Change (What), Reason for Change (Why), and affected items validation.
  • Perform Buy-Level Traceability (BLT) audits to ensure below-the-buy (BTB) changes flow up to the Client Robotics buy level for all Vulcan Stow components.
  • Validate BOM structures, AML accuracy, tech type assignments (OTS/MTS/MTS Co-Designed), and regional deployability attributes (US, CA, EU, GB, JP, AU) for Vulcan Stow parts.
  • Coordinate Pre-CCB preparation including supply chain EBS attribute entry, material compliance documentation review, and regulatory compliance verification.
  • Support CCB approval meetings by preparing change impact assessments covering E&O costs, lead time implications, rework/scrap analysis, and inventory disposition recommendations.
  • Manage ECO relationships and rules, linking deviations (DEVs) and SREAs to permanent ECO implementations.
  • Ensure revision control integrity across Agile PLM and CAD vault (Solidworks/3DExperience) for Vulcan Stow drawings and models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including HW ME/EE SMEs, Manufacturing Tech Ops, Supply Chain (GCMs/Buyers), Field Services, Deployment Engineering, and System Safety.
  • Monitor ECO cycle times against priority-based SLAs (Critical: 48hr, High: 5-day, Low: 10+ day) and drive on-time completion.
  • Process SREAs (Supplier Requested Engineering Assistance) for Vulcan Stow contract manufacturers and manage supplier change notifications.
  • Maintain class code compliance and item numbering standards per 960-99999 for all Vulcan Stow part releases (400-series mechanical assemblies, 500-series PCBAs, 540-series cable assemblies, 600-series electromechanical assemblies, 700-series TLAs).
  • Drive disposition management (Use As-Is, Rework, Scrap, Purge, Recall) for Vulcan Stow inventory across Orders, Stock, RMA, and Field phases.
  • Write and maintain ECM process documentation, best practices, and lessons learned specific to Vulcan Stow program.
  • Mentor team members on Agile PLM workflows and ECO best practices.
  • Take ownership to identify process bottlenecks and drive improvements with minimal oversight.
  • High attention to detail with flexibility to enable business velocity.
  • Travel: Up to 15% required (domestic, primarily to manufacturing/supplier sites).
Daily Schedule: M-F Standard Hours
Typical Day in the Role:
  • Morning stand-ups with Vulcan Stow hardware engineering and deployment teams
  • ECO queue triage and processing in Agile PLM - reviewing pending changes, validating documentation packages, and advancing ECOs through workflow stages
  • Tech Review participation as ECM acknowledger/reviewer - verifying revision conflicts, BLT completeness, AML accuracy, and lifecycle assignments
  • Cross-functional coordination with Supply Chain (GCMs for EBS attributes), Materials Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, and Inventory Management during Pre-CCB and CCB stages
  • SREA processing and supplier change notification management for Vulcan Stow contract manufacturers
  • Documentation of ECO metrics, cycle time tracking, and change backlog reporting
Program Focus:
  • Primarily dedicated to Vulcan Stow program ECM support
  • May provide secondary ECM support to adjacent programs (Vulcan Pick, Matrix) as capacity allows
Technical Interaction:
Extensive daily interaction with:
  • HW Mechanical and Electrical Engineering SMEs (ECO originators)
  • Manufacturing Technical Operations leads (AML/MAP coordination)
  • GCMs and Supply Chain Buyers (EBS attributes, PO updates, disposition management)
  • Materials Compliance and Regulatory Compliance teams (Pre- CCB reviews)
  • Field Services and Support teams (TSB/FSB implementation, FRU kit updates)
  • Deployment Engineering (site-specific change impacts, regional configuration management)
  • Finance (rework/scrap cost approvals at CCB)
Typical Task Breakdown (%):
  • 35% - ECO processing and lifecycle management in Agile PLM (origination support, Tech Review, Submitted review, Pre-CCB coordination, CCB preparation, Released/CIB tracking)
  • 25% - Cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management (Supply Chain, Compliance, Manufacturing, Field Services)
  • 20% - BOM validation, BLT audits, AML verification, and regional deployability attribute management
  • 10% - SREA processing and supplier change management
  • 10% - ECM metrics reporting, process improvement, and documentation (cycle time dashboards, change backlog analysis, lessons learned)

Flex Hours / Remote:

  • This position is Hybrid - does not require on-site presence. Remote

WE THE TEKWISSEN PEOPLE

TekWissen offers you a broader portfolio of services, industry-leading solutions, and the meaningful innovations that give you greater flexibility and speed to respond to market dynamics, reduced costs and risk to improve enterprise performance, and increased productivity to enable growth.

To keep pace with global market demands, TekWissen keeps its finger on the pulse of change. Our organized approach to guiding a project from its inception to closure. Managing projects is becoming more and more important as we enter the digital era. To cope with the pace that this transition demands, a method is required to manage projects so they can yield quality work, while incorporating efficient use of time and resources.

Project involves identifying which quality standards are relevant to the project and determining how to satisfy them.

It is important to perform quality planning during the Planning Process and should be done alongside the other project planning processes because changes in the quality will likely require changes in the other planning processes, or the desired product quality may require a detailed risk analysis of an identified problem. It is important to remember that quality should be planned, designed, then built in, not added on after the fact.

Capabilities and accomplishments in one TekWissen business enhance the opportunity for success in the others. Put simply, TekWissen's unique combination of attributes promotes success.
