The opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy as an Engineering Drafter and bring design ideas to life through precision, creativity, and collaboration. In this role, you'll play a vital part in developing detailed technical drawings and 3D models that support the production of transformer components powering essential energy systems worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams, turning complex concepts into clear, accurate, and actionable designs. You'll contribute across the full project lifecycle-from initial concept through production-while continuously improving drafting processes and quality standards.

How you'll make an impact

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and models using CAD tools (CREO)
• Translate engineering sketches and specifications into accurate technical documentation
• Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and parts lists
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to support design and project needs
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards
• Maintain and update drawing archives and document control systems
• Identify opportunities to improve drafting processes and efficiency
• Support preparation of technical reports and project documentation
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

• Associate degree in Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of experience in engineering drafting, ideally in industrial or energy sectors
• Proficiency with CREO and 3D CAD modeling tools preferred
• Strong knowledge of drafting principles, including GD&T
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and collaboration skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
