Jennie Stuart Health is seeking an Engineering Electrician to join our Engineering team. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the normal and emergency electrical systems throughout the hospital and surrounding facilities. The Engineering Electrician will also coordinate electrical work with outside contractors and assist other tradespeople with departmental projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install electrical circuits and services throughout hospital facilities.
  • Maintain the normal and emergency branches of the hospital’s electrical power system.
  • Plan and install additional electrical circuits based on facility needs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues throughout the facility.
  • Coordinate electrical services and projects with outside contractors and vendors.
  • Assist other Engineering team members and tradespeople in completing departmental tasks.
  • Follow all organizational, safety, infection-control, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Four years of electrical technician experience or completion of a vocational electrical trade program required.
  • Current Kentucky electrician license required.
  • Master Electrician or Journeyman Electrician license preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires standing, walking, climbing, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, stooping, squatting, and using hand or foot controls. The employee must also be able to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions.

  • Reports to the Facilities Site Manager.
  • Classified as an essential position during inclement weather.
  • Requires clear communication, attention to detail, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work effectively with employees, contractors, and vendors.
