Candidates must have experience with: • Interface with project leadership and other project disciplines to ensure automation requirements and scope are understood • Responsible for the generation of detailed automation design documents and test plans to ensure alignment with agreed technical approach and compliance with functional specifications • Troubleshooting of hardware • Resolve technical questions and concerns through interaction with customers, vendors, and internal personnel • Develop innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, serviceability, cost and manufacturability • Analyze and validate material/component selection, performance, cost, manufacturability • Work with cross-functional teams to complete subsystem and system verification • Evaluate and prioritize pertinent business tasks with limited information • Conceptualize, engineer, and complete detailed design of controls, safety, and power circuits for process automation • Use CAD tools to design electrical schematics, pneumatic systems and panel layouts for automation systems per requirements • Create specifications from variety of sources including from scratch as required
The essential requirements of the job include: • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related STEM Major and 15+ years of process automation experience in a regulated industry • Comprehensive understanding of and strong hands-on experience with system/hardware integration • Experienced with stage gate engineering design processes • Able to work independently with minimal direction • Excellent cross-functional teamwork, coordination, and communication skills Experience at developing IEC and NFPA style electrical schematics • Exposure to government regulated industries (GMP, GAMP)
