Candidates must have experience with: Interface with project leadership and other project disciplines to ensure automation requirements and scope are understood Responsible for the generation of detailed automation design documents and test plans to ensure alignment with agreed technical approach and compliance with functional specifications Troubleshooting of hardware Resolve technical questions and concerns through interaction with customers, vendors, and internal personnel Develop innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, serviceability, cost and manufacturability Analyze and validate material/component selection, performance, cost, manufacturability Work with cross-functional teams to complete subsystem and system verification Evaluate and prioritize pertinent business tasks with limited information Conceptualize, engineer, and complete detailed design of controls, safety, and power circuits for process automation Use CAD tools to design electrical schematics, pneumatic systems and panel layouts for automation systems per requirements Create specifications from variety of sources including from scratch as required
The essential requirements of the job include: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related STEM Major and 15+ years of process automation experience in a regulated industry Comprehensive understanding of and strong hands-on experience with system/hardware integration Experienced with stage gate engineering design processes Able to work independently with minimal direction Excellent cross-functional teamwork, coordination, and communication skills Experience at developing IEC and NFPA style electrical schematics Exposure to government regulated industries (GMP, GAMP)
