Engineering Intern

Position Overview:

Power your Future with Qualus as an Engineering Intern. At Qualus, our Engineering Interns gain hands-on experience by supporting our engineering teams on real-world projects. Interns assist arc flash studies for commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, or generation facilities, preparing electrical design packages, developing drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and learning the quality control process alongside senior engineers. They also provide project documentation support and contribute to general office tasks—all while building valuable technical and professional skills.

This internship is designed to give students the opportunity to apply their coursework in a professional setting, explore career paths in engineering, and learn directly from experienced mentors.

 

Responsibilities:

• Assist in short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies for commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, or generation facilities using SKM, ETAP, and/or Easypower software.
• Learn to develop study reports and how to communicate results and recommendations to customers.
• Create and edit drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Learn and assist with quality checks on electrical drawings under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support project documentation and general office tasks.
• Apply company processes, procedures, and client standards in project work.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and gain exposure to a variety of project phases.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Full-time student in an ABET-accredited program pursuing a BS/BE degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.
