    Job Description

    Summary: Delphinus Engineering is searching for an enthusiastic engineering student to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. This paid co-op requires someone local to the area supporting our engineering groups at NSWCPD from March through September 2025. The spring / summer internship / co-op offers a great opportunity to learn about government contracting and business practices, while gaining real-world experience as a part of our engineering team supporting the U.S. Navy.

    The intern / co-op will work closely with Engineering Division Management, Corporate, operations/line organizations, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and functional departments (e.g., Contracts/Subcontracts, HR, Recruiting, Finance, and Procurement) as necessary to support engineering tasking for the US Navy at NSWCPD.  Work content will include:

    • Assist in the performance of engineering laboratory interface, test, and evaluation of shipboard systems
    • Support of the currently deployed Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E systems for the Navy
    • Assistance with configuration management, testing, documentation, and tracking of hardware and material for shipboard alterations, upgrades, and tech refresh efforts
    • Assist in the oversight and management of operational/engineering aspects of ongoing projects and serve as support between division management and planning/project team.

    Compensation Range: $25 - $29 per hour

    In determining compensation, various factors will be considered, including but not limited to, educational background; relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, market factors; and geographic location.

    Location: Philadelphia, PA.

    Job Function:

    • The ideal candidate will be familiar with all aspects of Microsoft Office tools, will be able to assist in content management to develop creative solutions to help track workflow processes and performance. The candidate should be flexible, people oriented and able to work well with others.

    Qualifications:

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
    • SharePoint experience is a plus
    • Experience with data analysis
    • Attention to detail and ability to navigate, edit, and update technical documentation and specifications

    Additional Information: 

    The working hours will be flexible but will require on-site support at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia. Some functions may be performed remotely on occasion.
