Your Role
Akkodis is seeking an Engineering Lab Technician for a Contract job with a client in Hillsboro, OR. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in electronics testing, hardware validation, and system-level debugging, along with familiarity with laboratory equipment and server hardware environments.
Rate Range: $55/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Engineering Lab Technician job responsibilities include:
Assemble, configure, and install development platforms, test benches, and server systems.
Execute system validation tests and document test results, observations, and findings.
Perform hardware troubleshooting and support system-level debug activities.
Utilize oscilloscopes and other lab equipment to collect and analyze signal and performance data.
Prepare boards and components for modifications, repairs, and rework activities.
Support lab logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and equipment tracking.
Maintain an organized laboratory environment and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and workflow processes.
Assist with creation of test fixtures and prototypes, including support for 3D-printed components and setup modifications.
Desired Qualifications:
Associate Degree, Technical Certification, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent hands-on experience in a related field.
2+ years of experience in an electronics lab, hardware validation, system testing, or board-level development environment.
Fundamental understanding of computer architectures, server hardware, and system-level troubleshooting.
Experience working with oscilloscopes, schematics, and electronic test equipment.
Familiarity with Linux command-line environments.
Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with server management processors or BMC technologies.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals and server maintenance.
Exposure to thermal validation and hardware performance testing.
Ability to perform basic soldering or hardware rework activities.
Experience with x86 and ARM architectures.
Demonstrated interest in electronics, hardware development, or technical projects.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
