Job Title: Engineering Lab Technician

Hiring Manager: Engineering Manager, Engineering Lab Supervisor

Job Type: Full-Time, salaried position (exempt)

Location: Pleasant Prairie, WI

Position Overview:

The Engineering Technician will conduct engineering activities including but not limited to test preparation, test execution, and records maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform chemical analysis (inorganic) in accordance with written and verbal instructions.

  • Perform particulate analysis in accordance with written and verbal instructions.

  • Perform testing as required on new or existing products and components.

  • Provide Engineering support to the Production and Quality Control departments. Including but not limited to the following:

  • Statistical analysis of production-related problems.

  • Work instruction and procedure review.

  • Equipment and fixture evaluation.

  • General troubleshooting and problem analysis.

  • Record creation and maintenance (Declarations/Certificates of Conformity, test reports, etc.)

  • Interpret instructions, specifications, and other pertinent information and communicate information to staff.

  • All projects and tasks assigned by the Engineering Lab Supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret and communicate engineering plans and specifications.
  • Ability to perform chemical and particulate analysis (titration, mesh distribution, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime as needed to complete job duties.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma and either additional pre-engineering related coursework or vocational school; OR equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, Quality Systems, Continuous Improvement and other Quality concepts/tools.
  • Prior laboratory experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods wearing a face mask.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to access and inspect all areas of machinery.
