Job Description

Step into a high-impact leadership role where you’ll help shape the future of energy infrastructure. As a Civil Engineering Manager, you’ll lead the planning, permitting, and delivery of electric transmission projects—guiding technical execution while developing the next generation of engineering talent.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance technical expertise, project oversight, and team development, all while collaborating across disciplines to deliver complex, meaningful projects.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Lead impactful infrastructure projects that power communities and support the energy transition
  • Own both strategy and execution—from site development through construction support
  • Grow your leadership influence by mentoring engineers and shaping high-performing teams
  • Work across disciplines with experts in electrical, geotechnical, environmental and more
  • Expand your technical reach with exposure to cutting-edge tools, permitting, and sustainable design practices

What You’ll Do

  • Lead civil engineering efforts for electric transmission siting, permitting, and design
  • Direct and coordinate project tasks, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget alignment
  • Guide multidisciplinary collaboration across engineering teams
  • Oversee preparation and review of calculations, drawings, and technical deliverables
  • Conduct field assessments, site inspections, and construction-phase support
  • Participate in proposal development, including scope and budget creation
  • Ensure quality through peer reviews, QA/QC processes, and technical oversight
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a confident, solutions-oriented leader who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about both engineering excellence and team development. You bring a balance of technical depth, project ownership, and people leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (multi-state reciprocity preferred)
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, permitting, and construction practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams in dynamic environments

Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in civil engineering
  • Proficient with the development of design and construction documents for infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience with regulatory requirements and permitting associated with infrastructure projects
  • Background in electric transmission or similar infrastructure projects preferred
  • Experience using engineering and project tools such as AutoCAD, Hydrology, Hydraulic, Stormwater Management and Project Management software

Technical Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor, applying advanced engineering concepts to complex challenges
  • Evaluate and implement innovative methods, tools, and processes
  • Analyze projects from a systems perspective with a focus on sustainability and long-term performance
  • Stay current on evolving engineering practices and recommend improvements

Management, Supervision, and Guidance

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, designers, and drafters
  • Assign work, manage performance, and foster continuous learning
  • Provide coaching that builds technical capability and professional growth
  • Promote a culture of curiosity, accountability, and collaboration

Communication, Teamwork, and Leadership

  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal partners
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
