Our client is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead both the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering departments. This role is ideal for a hands‑on engineering leader with deep experience in designing and delivering complex capital equipment and strong expertise in industrial automation, controls, and cross‑functional engineering management.


You will oversee engineering strategy, product development, R&D initiatives, and technical execution while partnering closely with Project Management and Sales to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote innovation across all engineering disciplines.
  • Drive engineering strategy, R&D initiatives, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering departments.
  • Support Sales with technical input for new products and customer proposals.
  • Manage engineering budgets, resource planning, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee equipment design, process flow, and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Ensure high standards of professionalism in customer technical meetings and presentations.
  • Provide executive‑level summaries on project status, cost controls, and engineering challenges.
  • Improve manufacturing processes through automation, data analysis, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Partner with Project Management to meet customer specifications, timelines, and quality expectations.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 3–5 years of leadership or management experience overseeing engineering teams.
  • Hands‑on experience with industrial automation and controls, including PLCs, HMIs and SCADA.
  • 7–10 years of experience in industrial machinery design/manufacturing for a designer and builder of capital equipment.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with FEA and CFD tools.
  • Some mechanical engineering capability.
  • Experience in heat treatment of metal parts or thermal processing equipment.
  • Familiarity with: Allen Bradley PLC (500/5000), Intouch Wonderware and HC900 Design Station.
