ROLE OVERVIEW:

An established industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead engineering efforts for high-temperature vacuum furnaces and VPA coating systems used across aerospace, energy, additive, and precision manufacturing applications.

This onsite role in Corona, California requires a hands-on engineering leader who can oversee mechanical and electrical design work, capital equipment development, industrial automation integration, and team execution. The ideal candidate combines deep industrial machinery expertise with strong leadership, budgeting, and R&D capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead engineering activities for industrial machinery and capital equipment design programs
  • Oversee mechanical and electrical engineering deliverables, including CAD, FEA, and CFD-driven design work
  • Guide automation and controls strategy involving PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, instrumentation, and Allen-Bradley platforms
  • Support development of vacuum furnace and coating-system solutions for demanding manufacturing environments
  • Manage engineering priorities, schedules, budgets, and cross-functional coordination
  • Drive R&D initiatives and continuous improvement across product and process design
  • Ensure technical accuracy, manufacturability, and alignment with business objectives
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and accountability for engineering team performance

MUST HAVES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • 7-10 years of experience in industrial machinery design and manufacturing
  • Background working for a designer and builder of capital equipment is required
  • Strong experience with electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and industrial automation systems
  • Hands-on knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, instrumentation, Allen-Bradley PLC / 500 / 5000, and InTouch Wonderware
  • Experience with HC900 Design Station, CAD software, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of FEA, CFD, budgeting, and R&D
  • Ability to work onsite in Corona, CA
