To address growth, 75-year-old engineering & manufacturing company has an opening for an Engineering Manager. Direct-hire position with outstanding benefits!
Duties:
- Act as a “working manager” to lead the product & systems engineering group (with 6 direct reports)
- Oversee execution, technical direction, and team development in a customer-specific / machine design environment
- Set and communicate engineering goals, aligned with business priorities
- Work closely with cross-functional leaders to drive new product development, research, and customer programs
- Oversee personnel matters such as hiring, developing/coaching, and evaluating department engineers
- Lead the design electro-mechanical automation/power transmission products (includes precision-machined components)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or similar
- 7+ years of professional machine / systems design experience
- 2+ years of experience as an engineering manager or engineering supervisor
- Experience as a “working manager”
- Experience designing or incorporating power transmission/motion control components (motors, gears, actuators, drives, sensors, etc.)
- 3D CAD experience (Solidworks a plus)
- Experience working in a low-volume, high-mix environment preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Salary: $140-160K
