We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Engineering Manager to lead a closed die forging engineering department. In this critical role, you will oversee a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, managing projects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize forging processes and tooling design. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of impression die hot forging, expertise in simulation software like DEFORM, and a proven track record of leadership and problem-solving.

Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:Â Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Delegate tasks effectively, manage work schedules, and conduct performance evaluations.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members on forging processes, tooling design, and problem resolution.
Process Optimization:Â Analyze production activities, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Evaluate and optimize existing forging processes and tooling designs to reduce costs and improve product quality.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying lean manufacturing principles and best practices.
Tooling Design & Simulation:Â Oversee the design, development, and implementation of new forging and support tooling.
Utilize DEFORM and other simulation software to analyze material flow, predict potential issues, and optimize tooling performance.
Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions to ensure production efficiency and product quality.
Collaboration & Communication:Â Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, purchasing, and sales.
Work closely with vendors and suppliers to manage service contracts and ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment.
Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to communicate project updates, analysis findings, and improvement recommendations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:Â Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, or Manufacturing preferred) or equivalent experience.
Experience:Â 7+ years of experience in a similar engineering management role within a closed die forging environment.
Technical Skills:Â Extensive knowledge of impression die hot forging processes, materials, and tooling.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and DEFORM simulation software.
Experience with toolpath generation, flow simulation, and surfacing software is a plus.
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
