The Opportunity:

Sapphire Recruitment is seeking a technically grounded Engineering Manager for an established aerospace and defense electronics manufacturer. This is a vital leadership role where you will serve as the final technical authority for a multidisciplinary team, ensuring electronics meet the rigorous standards required for mission-critical defense applications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Mentor (70%): Direct a multidisciplinary team of Electrical, Mechanical, and Computer Engineers. Manage resource allocation, set project priorities, and foster a culture of technical excellence.
- Technical Oversight (30%): Act as the primary technical authority in circuit design reviews and schematic approvals. Partner with Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure designs are optimized for production (DFM).
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Program Managers to meet delivery metrics and project milestones without compromising engineering integrity.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: BS in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Engineering (BSCE) is required; an MS is a plus.
- Experience: 5–10+ years in electronics engineering, with significant experience in a Senior, Lead, or Tech Lead capacity.
- Technical Breadth: Strong hands-on experience in circuit design and schematic review. Ability to communicate effectively across EE, ME, and CE disciplines.
- Leadership Mindset: A genuine desire to pivot into formal people management while remaining deeply connected to hardware development and engineering standards.
