Redwire Space Missions has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager, Integration and Test, at our facility in Littleton, CO. In this role, you will lead and grow the engineering team that integrates, tests, verifies, and qualifies spacecraft avionics products, including power electronics, power distribution hardware, command & data handling hardware, camera systems and related avionics assemblies. This role ensures products are successfully transitioned from development into production while meeting technical, cost, schedule, and quality objectives. .

The successful candidate will build and lead a high-performing team responsible for electrical, functional, environmental, and qualification testing across the product lifecycle.

This position reports to the Director of Engineering Integration and Test and is responsible for developing standard integration and test processes, improving test automation, increasing engineering efficiency, and ensuring consistent execution across avionics product line.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Integration & Test engineering team supporting spacecraft avionics products.
  • Plan and manage integration, verification, qualification, acceptance, and environmental test campaigns for avionics products.
  • Ensure verification activities satisfy system, customer, and mission requirements.
  • Develop scalable integration and test architectures supporting both engineering development units and flight production hardware.
  • Drive Design for Testability (DFT) principles into new product development.
  • Support anomaly investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

  • Coordinate laboratory utilization, test equipment availability, and engineering staffing.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop Integration & Test engineers.
  • Establish technical standards and best practices for Integration & Test.
  • Conduct performance reviews and career development planning.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build organizational capability to support increasing production and program complexity.
  • Participate in proposal activity by developing and/or reviewing execution plans, developing estimates and BOEs for task execution, and reviewing project costs.
  • Establish and report team metrics to leadership to monitor team performance, skills bench depth, and on-time-delivery of engineering data.

Ideal Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience with the development, integration, and/or test of space-based electronics.
  • Experience performing in a technical or functional lead role.
  • Experience supporting environmental qualification testing, including shock, vibration, TVAC, and EMI/EMC.
  • Experience and training in safe handling protocols for flight hardware, including cleanroom and ESD standards.
  • An average of 10% travel may be required.
  • Ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating, testing, and qualifying spacecraft avionics and payload hardware (e.g. power electronics, camera systems, optical payloads).
  • Experience with embedded systems, FPGA and microprocessor-based hardware.
  • Experience specifying and using electrical ground support equipment (EGSE), special test equipment (STE), and data acquisition systems.
  • Hand-on experience with automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Experience specifying and developing hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) test systems.
  • Demonstrated innovative, analytical approach to performing troubleshooting, resolving complex test issues and anomalies, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience in a scripting language such as: LabVIEW, Python, Bash, or others.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management and product lifecycle management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects in parallel.
  • Experience maintaining certification of AS9100D accreditation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Active US security clearance.

Pay range: $145,000 - $180,000/yr.

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
